Python Development Environments¶
Introduction¶
Chapter 01 introduces the main ways to build and manage Python development
environments. It begins with the system Python environment and the tradeoffs
of working directly on the host machine, then moves to venv for isolated
project dependencies, Conda for environment and binary package management,
and Dev Containers for fully reproducible, container-based development
setups. Together, these sections show how environment choices shape
developer workflow, dependency management, and project reproducibility.
